Privacy Policy

Peerium AI is a peer-to-peer study platform for students aged 13 and up. Because many of our users are minors, we take data collection and retention seriously, and this policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and for how long.

What we collect

When you create an account and use Peerium AI, we collect:

• Display name, username, grade level, and subjects you study
• Date of birth (encrypted at rest — used only to apply age-appropriate rules, never shown to other users)
• A parent or guardian's email address, if you're under 18 (encrypted at rest, used only for the consent process)
• Study session activity: subjects, topics, questions answered, and session timing
• Chat messages exchanged with a study partner during a session

Why we collect it

To run the core product (matching you with a study partner, running timed sessions, tracking your progress) and, in an anonymised/aggregate form, for research into peer learning effectiveness. We never use a minor's data for behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

• Chat messages: 90 days, then permanently deleted by an automated job.
• If a parent revokes consent, or you request account deletion: your date of birth and your parent's email are permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate study statistics (session counts, streaks) may be retained — they can no longer be traced back to you once your identifying information is removed.

Your rights

You (or, if you're a minor, your parent/guardian) can request to review your data, delete your account, or revoke consent at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. Revoking consent deactivates the account immediately.
